Royal Caribbean - Independence of the Seas - Our REVIEW

We recently set sail on a 3-day Bahamian cruise aboard Royal Caribbean Cruise Line's Independence of the Seas departing from Port Canaveral, Florida.  Our review is for this specific cruise only. Our boarding time was scheduled for 11:00am on embarkation day so we decided to head down to Florida a day early to avoid missing our cruise.  We stayed at the Hyatt Place Hotel in Titusville, Florida which is about 20-30min from Port Canaveral.  It made for an easy commute to Port Canaveral. Fun Fact: Embarkation is the process of loading a passenger ship    On the morning of our cruise, we left our hotel at 10:00am which turned out to be the perfect time to get us to the boarding station at 11:00am.  As we crossed the Martin Andersen Beachline Expressway, our excitement level went through the roof at seeing the various cruise ships in port.      Our terminal was Terminal 1, which is Royal's main terminal at Port Canaveral.  The signage at the port was good at getting us to the right

Walt Disney World Park Pass System

Wait...there's something else I have to do while planning my Walt Disney World vacation?

Yes.  As you are well aware, the Walt Disney World Resort closed back in March of 2020 due to the COVID-19 virus pandemic.  As part of their phased re-opening, Disney implemented the Disney Park Pass System to manage attendance and promote physical distancing.

Guests 3 and older must have a valid theme park reservation and theme park admission to enter a park (limited to one park per day).

Before purchasing a vacation package or tickets only, you will need to view park availability first to ensure you're not purchasing tickets for parks you won't be able to visit.  Once you confirm the park you want to visit, for each day of your vacation is available, you can then purchase your vacation package or tickets.  Once purchased, be sure to link your vacation package or tickets to your MyDisney Experience account and reserve your park pass.  Once your park pass has been confirmed, you're all set.

But what about the Park Hopper option?  I can only visit one park per day?

Beginning January 1, 2021 Disney has reintroduced the Park Hopper ticket option...with some changes.

Park Hopper hours will begin at 2pm each day and end at the selected park's closing time.  The start and end time are subject to change daily depending on the day and park.

Currently, a park pass reservation is NOT required for park hopping, however, you must enter the park you have a park reservation for first before you can park hop.  The ability to park hop depends on the attendance of the other park(s).  There is the possibility you could be turned away if the park you're hopping to is at capacity for the day.

For example:  You want to visit both the Magic Kingdom and Disney's Hollywood Studios in the same day.  You will need to decide which park to obtain a park pass reservation for.  Let's choose the Magic Kingdom.  You must enter the Magic Kingdom first, using your park pass.  A little before 2pm, you can start making your way to Disney's Hollywood Studios.  At 2pm, you can enter Disney's Hollywood Studios.  You're not limited to just two parks; you could also visit Epcot or Disney's Animal Kingdom Park if you so desire.  You can even return to the Magic Kingdom later in the day if you wish.

Please also be mindful of Disney's health protocols before visiting.
