Royal Caribbean - Independence of the Seas - Our REVIEW

We recently set sail on a 3-day Bahamian cruise aboard Royal Caribbean Cruise Line's Independence of the Seas departing from Port Canaveral, Florida.  Our review is for this specific cruise only. Our boarding time was scheduled for 11:00am on embarkation day so we decided to head down to Florida a day early to avoid missing our cruise.  We stayed at the Hyatt Place Hotel in Titusville, Florida which is about 20-30min from Port Canaveral.  It made for an easy commute to Port Canaveral. Fun Fact: Embarkation is the process of loading a passenger ship    On the morning of our cruise, we left our hotel at 10:00am which turned out to be the perfect time to get us to the boarding station at 11:00am.  As we crossed the Martin Andersen Beachline Expressway, our excitement level went through the roof at seeing the various cruise ships in port.      Our terminal was Terminal 1, which is Royal's main terminal at Port Canaveral.  The signage at the port was good at getting us to the right

Located at the rear of the park just past the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Be Our Guest is a dining experience you won't want to miss.  With the popularity of the animation feature and the current live action film, it is highly recommended for all diners to obtain advanced dining reservations (ADRs) for this restaurant.

Depending on whether you're dining at breakfast, lunch, or dinner your ordering method will change. For lunch and breakfast, you'll place your order from a touchscreen at your table.  However, if you're paying via cash, Cast Members are available to assist.  Or you may use the MyDisney Experience app or order online via your Disney account up to 30-days in advance.

Tip:  When using the app or online as your method of ordering, keep in mind that others in your party, on the same reservation, will be ordering on the same "ticket."  This means that if you're paying via a dining plan, the total for everyone will be drawn from the main account holder.  Disney will not split dining plan payments.  This means your credits will pay for others...not just you.  in this case, it is recommended you wait and place your order once at the restaurant.

There are 3 dining rooms to choose from upon arrival; The Grand Ballroom, The West Wing, and The Castle Gallery.  Upon entering the restaurant you'll be free to choose which dining room you want to dine in.  Tables are on a first come first serve basis.

Even though this is considered a quick service restaurant, your food will be brought to your table after ordering.  However, you'll be on your own to get your drinks and silverware.  There are self serve stations in each dining room.

One reason this is such a popular restaurant is because of the decor inside.  Be mindful that others will be roaming around and seeing all of the sights while you're eating, which you are also free to do.  So choose your table accordingly.  For instance, sitting in the the West Wing near the rose, which is cool, will lead to higher foot traffic for picture takers.

We don't pretend to be food critics.  Therefore our review of this restaurant is simply on the restaurant decor, atmosphere and service.

And don't forget to try the grey stuff....it's delicious.
